Spray Polyurethane Foam Insulation "The Systems Performance Approach"

Description: Participants of this course will gain information and insight into the impact of spray foam insulation systems and how it relates to the overall building performance objectives. This course will discuss the benefits on moisture control, minimizing air exchange, indoor air quality, sound attenuation, and overall comfort of the buildings.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand the basic characteristics and proper installation of spray foam insulation
  • Define the insulation performance of open-cell and closed-cell spray polyurethane foam (SPF)
  • Understand additional functions and benefits beyond R-value
  • Confirm code compliance
  • Demonstrate the range of applications
  • Understand how SPF fits within an overall systems approach to energy efficiency

 

Building Green with Cool Roofs

Description: Learn about the process for installing a cool roof acrylic coating system to turn a reroof project into a restoration project and contribute to environmental sustainability. The course will include information on how cool roofs can help to reduce urban heat islands over major metropolitan areas.
